BNI - Business Networking International

BNI is the world's leading referral organisation with over 211,000 members in 65 countries. In 2016 BNI member referrals generated $11.2 billion USD in revenue for their members.  

BNI Sussex has more than 700 members who refer each other approx £20 million each year. 

Here in Horsham we have 3 groups meeting weekly; two at breakfast and one at lunchtime.

BNI Vanguard

 

WEDNESDAY BREAKFAST

 

BNI Vanguard meets every Wednesday for breakfast at South Lodge Hotel, Lower Beeding RH13 6PS. Meetings start 6.30am and finish by 8.30am.

 

Booking is essential as BNI operates a competition lock-out system.

 

Meeting fee approx £20 including full breakfast.

 

BNI Achievers

 

WEDNESDAY LUNCH

 

BNI Achievers meet every Wednesday lunchtime at The Holbrook Club, North Heath Lane RH12 5PJ. Meetings start 11.45am and finish by 1.45pm.

 

Booking is essential as BNI operates a competition lock-out system.

 

Current meeting fee is £15 including refreshments and simple lunch. Plenty of free parking.

FRIDAY BREAKFAST

 

BNI Winners meet every Friday for breakfast at The Holbrook Club, North Heath Lane RH12 5PJ. Meetings start 6.30am and finish by 8.30am.

Meeting fee is approx £10 including full breakfast. Plenty of free parking.

 

All BNI groups (or chapters as they liked to be called) will welcome visitors twice. Applications to join are subject to committee approval. BNI expects members to commit to attending weekly and if they cannot attend for any reason, a substitute should be sent to represent your business for you (there's plenty of support to help you with that). The secret to BNI's success quite simply is this weekly commitment to attend. Relationships are built faster and become more meaningful and accountable when you see someone week after week.

 

On top of the weekly meetings, members voluntarily meet up separately with each other to have 1-2-1 meetings to improve their knowledge and relationships.  Power Teams form when similar sector businesses realise they have different products or services to offer the same customer. For example, a financial advisor can easily refer the same client to a will writer and a mortgage advisor. 

 

BNI is all about pre-qualified opportunities for business - which effectively means warmed up referrals to someone who is not only expecting your call but excited about it. Ideal for anyone who wants to grow their business but hates cold calling.

 

Members not only benefit from improved turnover within their business; BNI provides a source of trusted suppliers, excellent professional development, free mentoring and frequently generates great friendships.

 

Each chapter operates a lock-out to competition - only one person per profession or trade within each chapter. Members are allowed to visit other chapters so long as they are not locked out of that chapter. 

 

BNI meetings follow a structured agenda which is proven to maximise the business that is passed. Membership with BNI will cost you about £1000 per year but really does produce results.

 

Sussex Women in Business

Four meetings in Horsham each month - 2 brunch and 2 lunch plus social outings.  Meetings typically Tuesdays or Thursdays. brunches normally held at Bill's and lunches alternate between Carmela and Pizza Express.  Social* outings include theatre trips and behind the scenes visits to high end kitchens such as Ockenden Manor.

 

Low cost, no commitment networking at £90 per year membership, plus lunches at £20 for visitors / £15 (tbc) for members. Brunches just pay for what you eat.  Members can also join a closed Facebook group for online networking.

 

WiB is ladies only and perfect for networking beginners. The group is very welcoming and friendly, meetings have minimal agendas and you will get an opportunity to speak to everyone who attends. The group has approx 60-70 members although they rarely assemble in the same place at the same time! At brunch meetings expect to see between 5 and 15 members; lunches anything from 10 to 25 members.

Fabulous Women, Marvellous Men

Whereas Women in Business does not allow men, Fab Women does... just as long as they're marvellous!  Meetings are held on the third Friday of the month at The Greets Inn, Warnham RH12 3QY.  Meetings are from 10am-12pm with a £10 fee which includes refreshments.  FWMM began in the Dorking area and there are now plenty of groups in the network across Bedfordshire, Hampshire, London, Surrey and Sussex. Visitors are welcome to attend up to three times before joining with various membership options (starting from £150 per year) which entitles you to access the other groups and online networking/advertising opportunities. The Horsham group is run by Sarah Moore of More Than Beauty. Book on via website or call 07887 690115.

Lello Networking

Entry level networking. No memberships, no agenda. Just meet down the pub (well Mungo's bar) on the second Thursday of the month, from 5.30 onwards. Usually all done by 8.30pm. Just bring some business cards, buy a drink and chat! No booking required but event info is via Facebook Group Lello: Networking (request to join).  This group is run by Rob Cole.

Sussex Social Netwalking

Taking networking outside with all the benefits walking brings. Sussex Social NetWALKing is a way to get out of the office,into the fresh air, the beautiful Sussex countryside and make new business connections.

Gatwick Diamond Business (gdb)

Gatwick Diamond Business is big business networking and attracts many corporate members. If you are after bigger business, this is the environment for you. Membership includes regular networking events, free promotion opportunities and local training workshops. They also act as a united voice representing members' interests, giving them a powerful voice on local issues. As a member you will be able to take advantage of in excess of 80 events a year and make beneficial and financially-rewarding connections with other local businesses. Gdb has been supporting and empowering local businesses for the last 60 years. ABC Lunch Horsham Rewards

Brand new to Horsham, ABC meets every other Tuesday for lunch at the Shelley Arms, Broadbridge Heath with a £16 meeting fee which presumably includes some food. ABC now has 20  groups across the South East. It advertises there are no joining fees but there seems to be an option to upgrade to Rewards membership and gain an online profile and promote to the whole network. Effortless and effective networking for Mumpreneurs at friendly, inclusive groups across the UK. Everyone is welcome, you do not have to be a mum! Horsham's group meets in Bill's in Horsham on a Wednesday morning.

Complicated networking but plenty of it!  Horsham group meets at Rookwood Golf Club, Robin Hood Lane, RH12 3RR

Meetings cost £15 - seem to be Thursdays at 8am. Structured networking but no commitment to attend. No competition lock out. Can attend any event in network. Breakfast, lunch and evening meets. Membership fees apply.

First Friday

The First Friday group in Horsham like to be a bit different... they meet on the Third Friday!  Meetings are held 12.30-2pm at The Malt Shovel pub on Springfield Road.  No need to book, just turn up. HSC Networking Business Group @ Horsham Sports Club

An informal lunch networking group which meets every two months with occasional evening drinks events.  No commitment and no membership fee, just dip in and out as suits.  Meetings cost £15 and include a buffet lunch (drinks from bar available). Network with approx 30+ people, plus enjoy a speaker.
